HRH Prince Charles visited Leicester on 25th January 2017. He attended and spoke to members of the military at the St. Philips Centre. There was cadets from Southall in attendance. Raj Mann from the Sikh Museum Initiative explained the aims and objectives of the Anglo Sikh Wars project. He was presented with details of the Anglo Sikh Wars Exhibition running from 11th March to 4th June at Newarke Houses Museum, Leicester. He agreed that the wars saw the commencement of the special relationship that lead to the Sikhs being the backbone of many campaigns up to World War 2. He was also reminded that the idea of a Sikh regiment was gaining traction across the country.
